Iraq Cancels Six No-Bid Oil Contracts. Iraq’s oil minister, Hussain al-Shahristani, told reporters at an OPEC summit meeting in Vienna on Tuesday that talks with Exxon Mobil, Chevron, Shell, Total, BP and several smaller companies for one-year deals... had dragged on for so long that the companies could not now fulfill the work within that time frame. I wonder if al-Shahristani saw a short life span in the future if he went through with the oil deal? (7 of 6)

Went to see Babylon AD with my wife and boy yesterday... a couple in the row in front of us were talking.... the Woman says, "I had no idea this movie took place in the future." McCain, a son of Republican presidential nominee John McCain, sat on the boards of Silver State Bank and of its parent, Silver State Bancorp, starting in February but resigned in July citing "personal reasons," corporate filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission show.
