07/07/03 Centcom... "Two Soldiers Killed in Separate Attacks"
Here is an excellent analysis by Steve Gilliard on the reasons we are losing more than one soldier per day in Iraq.
Thanks, Steve. And now, my rant. Since April 10th (the day after Baghdad fell), half again (71) as many American boys have been killed by the repressed Iraqis as were killed (139) before the announcement. Our next-door neighbor's son is currently patrolling the streets of Baghdad, and I can't possibly imagine how he and his wife feel right now. I have two sons in their twenties and am so thankful that they are home and alive. I understand that most parents of soldiers thought the war would be like Gulf War I, which saw little loss of American lives, and would be over quickly, as Bush had promised. Now that this scenario has failed to materialize a second time, I truly wonder why these parents aren't up in arms and loudly protesting. Is the entire country in a state of denial?
