Bits and Pieces for the Week of January 25 - 31

I don't get it? It costs the USA billions of dollars for private contractors... U.S. Looks for Blackwater Replacement in Iraq. How about we just get the fuck out of Iraq once and for all? Please. (7 of 6)

Very bad news for California State employees (Mike)

THIS is why I stopped watching football many years ago. Sports (such as basketball) is a product of physical talent, teamwork, skills and desire. It is not about trying to incapacitate your opponent. Ice Hockey, football and boxing are all about violence. (Mike)

If you have the opportunity to watch the new show, "United States of Tara" on Showtime, you'll be treated with a fascinating character and an exceptional actress. (Mike)

If the Bush Administration had spent a few million dollars more on mortgage-fraud investigations back in 2002 then we wouldn't have this multi-trillion dollar worldwide economic meltdown. (Mike)

So the Secret Service is allowing Obama to keep his Blackberry 8830 (hey, it's the same model that I have!). (Mike)

Suggestion for Obama: Borrow Hillary Clinton's balls and start prosecuting the leaders of the Bush Administration for war crimes. Also, rather than closing it down after removing all the current detainees, save Gitmo for all those found guilty of war crimes. (Mike)

More republi-con obstruction, Labor Secretary holdup. (7 of 6)

25 people responsible for the worst economic turmoil since the Great Depression. However, you can't blame Bill Clinton without including the corrupt Republi-con congress from 1994-2006. And I don't see how you can include people who warned us of the impending doom. Yes, the American public is at fault, "There's a sucker born every minute!", we took the sale... "Hook, line and sinker!" (7 of 6)

Great! "President Obama's plans to expeditiously determine the fates of about 245 terrorism suspects held at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, and quickly close the military prison there were set back last week when incoming legal and national security officials -- barred until the inauguration from examining classified material on the detainees -- discovered that there were no comprehensive case files on many of them..." In the meantime, Karl Rove brags, "One year from now, Gitmo won’t be closed...” How about we leave GITMO open for bu$h/cheney/rumsfield/rove for false arrest! (7 of 6)

Disabled Vets Would Get $300 Bonus Under Senate Economic Recovery Plan. Do I think it will pass? Let me say I'm very skeptical until I see it. (7 of 6)
