I received an email from Progressive Democrats of Los Angeles, which included the following:

Her candidacy is endorsed by Jim Hightower, Daniel Ellsberg, Ron Kovic, Gore Vidal, Ed Asner, Cindy Sheehan, Scott Ritter, Ray McGovern, Robert Greenwald, Dolores Huerta, Ed Begley, Jr., Mike Farrell, Howard Zinn, Helen Caldicott, and many others....

I'm not sure why Marcy is listing political and entertainment celebrities as endorsers. I would much rather see local citizens, local Democrat clubs, and local and state office holders giving their endorsements. I'm sure Marcy thinks that name-dropping celebrities will garner some votes, but I thought that the voters in her district were relatively smart and savvy, and not swayed by what celebrities say.
