I just attended what is probably the most depressing, yet enlightening, lecture in my life. Helen Caldicott, President of the Nuclear Policy Research Institute, lectured to an assembly of pediatricians and health care workers about the dangers of current Bush Administration policy of nuclear weapon proliferation and nuclear power plant expansion, the globally devastating effects caused by current nuclear power generation... well, you get the drift. Information was presented from a medical perspective. Although the subject of Depleted Uranium was only touched, the information on the new generation nuclear power plants that are currently getting shoved through government by Cheney and his power industry cabal more than made up for it.
