When Bush blurted out "Let me finish!" for no apparent reason during last week's debate, there's been a lot of speculation, such as: he was responding to someone feeding him instructions via an earpiece (never proven). The best comment I've seen so far comes from QrazyQat on Kevin Drum's site:

I think his "let me finish" outburst was simply one of the many panicky reactions Bush exhibited during the debate due to the fact that for the first time in years he faced a person who talked back to him and who didn't depend on Bush for his job. I'm sure the debate was a terrifying experience for Bush -- perhaps the most terrifying of his life, since he has avoided situations like that all his life by using family connections. The family connections didn't mean anything this time, and Bush was scared shitless.
