Over 1,000,000 terrorist attacks

The Bush Administration tells us that in the last month, 2,400 [terrorist] attacks have occurred within an Iraqi population of 24 million, and that Iraqis, then, should feel safe because they and their families have only one chance in 10,000 of being victims of an insurgent attack [PER MONTH].

The Bush Administration also tells us that the U.S, with a population of approximately 300,000,000, has had, in the past 37 months, THREE terrorist attacks, but that we should be afraid... very VERY afraid.

If you make the Iraqi population numbers proportional the U.S., that would be an equivalent, in a 37-month period, of 1,110,000 terrorist attacks if Iraq was the size of the U.S.

Putting it another way, if Iraq had terrorist attacks at the same rate as the U.S., then in 12 YEARS there would be ONE terrorist attack in Iraq.

So, Bush, which is it: Is Iraq safe enough for freedom and elections and the U.S. in such grave danger that we must compromise our liberties, or are you just totally fucking with us?
