I received another e-letter today from the AFA. They ask us to call our Representative to do such-and-such. I've taken the liberty of "correcting" the text:
Dear Mike, (Please forward this to your friends and family)
There are 435 members of the U.S. House of Representatives. Would you please make one phone call to help keep marriage [from] being between [only] one man and one woman? Call your Representative and ask him or her to vote [against] If it passes in the House, it will go back to the Senate. Click here to get the direct phone number of your Representative. There are even some local numbers listed. Or, you can reach your Representative through the capitol switchboard at 202-224-3121. If he or she is listed as being "unknown" ask them to vote [against] Would you please call today? Thanks. Working together we can work wonders! Your phone call makes a difference. Several Representatives have already contacted us because of calls from their constituents. Sincerely, Donald E. Wildmon, Founder and Chairman American Family Association |
