Surprising Mark

Mark Kleiman seems surprised:

WAIT A MINUTE!

When Bush got to Iraq, he had to ask who was in charge of the hunt for WMD? And when he was told the person's name, he'd never heard of him? I expect to read that kind of stuff in The Onion, not in Time.

Mark, are you honestly that surprised? I would have been startled if Bush KNEW who was in charge.

Anyway, check out Mark's blog. He's one of those smart academians (is that a word?) who goes out of his way to support his elaborate views with background material, most of which I've never heard but always seems legit when I check it out. Plus his is the first blog upon which I stumbled one day last summer, and which inspired me to do Left is Right.
